Default Do snakes climb

Snakes!! If a brick wall won't defeat them then a comfy ladder certainly won't!! But if I was up North then I would much rather be up there than on the ground.

Holy slithering jellyfish!!!

And what's that tasty lump in the middle?

It that your wall? Did you take that shot? Can I send that to some herpetologist friends?

Trish...Yes, yes and yes. I got woken early one morning by the birds doing alarm calls and went outside to see this. I awoke the photographer and hence the photo. SHE had eaten something tasty...probably the sister of one of the objecting birds, and was having trouble getting back into our roof where SHE lives still to this day. SHE and some of her relations have also frightened a few roof visitors in her time...especially a team of insulation installers!! We have a series of photos of her trying to fit back into different holes trying to get back into her roof.

Is a shovel still the best way to kill a snake?

There is no such thing as a GOOD way to kill a snake. Just let them know you are coming and most of them will stay out of your way and go about their snakey business. But how do you tell a dog that?
Anyway, the Larks' snake is only a python. But a clever one. Isn't that an amazing shot?

Thumbs up

I guess we are not supposed to kill them BUT I lived at Flagstaff Hill on the edge of Sturt Gorge - full of eastern browns - the cats were in real trouble there - people who visited me once said my irrigation system was 'moving' - I had heavy-gauge fencing wire plaited into a whip of sorts - it flexes on the ground unlike a shovel and rarely missed the target unlike a shovel - just a bit of useless trivia!
